About Us
The Language and Technology Department was set up for the express purpose of exploring ways of enhancing language teaching and learning through the exploitation of salient technologies available in ICT world. We have identified the following areas of work which will contribute to our mission:

training teachers in the use of selected and relevant courseware in the ELT classroom

evaluation and adaptation of available ELT courseware

production of teachers' own ELT-related courseware

exploiting web-based resources in the ELT classroom or for self-directed language improvement

development of a training web portal to provide further support for ELT teachers; and

using ICT hardware to improve delivery in the ELT classroom

ELTC has a fully equipped multi-media suite and a complementing ICT factory that serves as an incubator of ELT-related ideas and products. We plan to run ICT-based ELT short courses, road shows and workshops for teachers to promote the use of ICT technologies in the language classroom.
