Training of the Trainer: Documenting the Training Process

Introduction
This course is aimed at giving teachers a voice in the implementation of an educational change. It is the aim of this course to help teachers document their learning experiences and share these with their colleagues around the country at conferences such as the ETeMS Conference.

Objectives of the Course
This course aims to help teachers:
Develop an understanding of the structure of academic and professional conferences and seminars

Develop an awareness of ways to gather data systematically

Identify an area of interest for study and plan its implementation

Understand the conventions of writing conference papers


Delivery Strategy
The course will be delivered through a combination of lectures and presentations as well as through guided study of documents.

Course Contents
Introduction to aims of conference and seminar
  Unpacking conference themes
  Matching data collection, instrument with research scenarios
  Identifying research areas and concerns
  Formulating research questions
  Understanding data collection techniques
  Developing data collection instruments
  Planning conference papers
  Action plan

Assessment
There will be no formal assessment of the course participants. CPs are expected to submit a draft of their intended study to the course facilitators for feedback.
